# Resonant Morphology M1 - Corrected Historical Note

Status: HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT ARTIFACT / BOUNDED SOFTWARE FIXTURE
Corrected: 2026-07-13
Current authority: not the public flagship proof; retained for lineage and experiment design.

The Resonant Morphology M1 is a bounded software fixture connecting a parameterized local-growth simulation, descriptor extraction, finite glyph encoding, and target-relative Specificity receipt. It is retained for lineage and experiment design, not as proof of physical morphology memory, universal coding, or completed persistent intelligence.

## Correction and Retraction Notice

The earlier stronger language around bidirectional closure, resonance, absolute truth, and robust morphology classes is retracted or bounded. The Pi_A+ readout is lossy and forward-only. The Specificity Receipt measures target compliance, not absolute truth. Seed 42 is one deterministic trace, not a proof of robust morphology classes.

## Corrected Threshold and Readout

The prototype's branching threshold is corrected to:

\`theta_b = 2.8(T) + 1.5\`

The symbolic readout is deterministically recoverable from the discrete ternary vector. That does not reconstruct the original simulated morphology. Tuple/glyph round-trip is not morphology reconstruction.

## Bounded Prototype Receipt

| Observation | Result |
| --- | --- |
| Segments | 7 |
| Bifurcations | 3 |
| Glyph ID | 31433 |
| PEFP digits | \`[0, 1, 0, -1, 0, -1, -1, 0, 1]\` |
| GSR / NGR | \`0.8 / 0.2\` |
| Debt classification | \`CAUTION\` |
| Failed checklist item | \`trail_density_ok\` |

The result is useful because the receipt preserves a failed condition and a nonzero debt state. A CAUTION output in one fixture is not a general solution to hallucination.

## Preserved Limitations

- The current small Construction A+ batch produced only two glyphs across five runs.
- It was not collision-free across morphologies.
- Tuple/glyph round-trip does not reconstruct the original morphology.
- Historical perfect replay was incomplete.
- No physical encoder-alphabet-channel-decoder system is established.
- Target-contract compliance is not absolute truth.
- Causal influence alone does not establish a finite alphabet.
- Post-hoc discretization alone does not establish a code.

## Mature Claim Hierarchy

1. Pattern
2. Process trace
3. Morphological memory
4. Morphological signal
5. Morphological code
6. Autonomously arising morphological code

Form may preserve partial or useful process history, but equifinality remains possible. Form is what exploration leaves behind: a partial, filtered, and potentially non-unique record of bounded local process.
